COVID-19 Update from Triad

As we all face COVID-19 together, we wanted to provide an update to help assist our clients, as our clients represent some of the most-affected industries.

Effective today, March 13, 2020, Triad Advertising Companies is operating remotely until further notice. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution, to protect the health and well-being of our employees, clients, and the general public, in accordance with recent state, CDC, and WHO recommendations.

That said, we’re here to help and intend to ensure that we don’t miss a beat. We remain fully operational and will continue to deliver the same exceptional customer service that our clients have enjoyed for 25 years.

Here are some tips we’ve put together for pivoting your marketing and communications strategy during this challenging time:

1. Rework the Message: Replace some of your “always-on” brand messaging with communications about how you’re handling this period of time, and how you’re still here for your customers. Switch from a sales mindset to a “here for you” mindset – inform, educate, be the voice of reason, and your customers will thank you for it. 

2. Reallocate Resources and Budgets: Cancelling events? Need to reallocate planned marketing spends? Go where your customers are. As people are spending more time at home, see if TV or streaming advertising, digital campaigns, direct mail, radio, streaming audio, or print may offer opportunities to communicate to your audience.

3. Repurpose every Postponement: Get creative with customer events and try bringing them online. Host a webinar instead of an Open House, use videoconferencing to connect “face to face” – and get creative with presentations and proposals, whether you’re delivering a printed piece via email or need to make a presentation to a customer or client online. Use the distance as an opportunity – when you would normally connect in person, send something creative in the mail, or even write a handwritten letter. Look for opportunities for creative outreach and events. (We vote for a virtual agency happy hour ourselves.)

4. Report on the Good: This period of social distancing is the perfect time to beef up your social media presence. Communicate often, and take the opportunity to share the good things happening:

  • We’re all reducing our carbon footprint. Start a tally of how many commuting hours your company is saving, or how many cars you are keeping off the road.
  • For our friends in the senior living industry, why not keep a tally of how many grandkids residents “FaceTimed” with this month?
  • Share stories of hope on social media – of how your employees are helping each other; of how you donated supplies to those in need; of the things you’re doing to make a positive impact.
  • Collect and encourage customer testimonials that you can save for later use in your marketing.
  • You can even have fun with it (we’re counting how many calories we’re saving by eliminating “Bagel Fridays”). Remember, it is ok – necessary even – to have fun and stay positive during this time.

5. Make Remote Work Fun: For those companies and teams able to work remotely, ensure a good employee morale by keeping the best elements of your culture going.

  • Bring the water cooler online and dedicate a time and place to talk movies, books, and what’s happening in everyone’s corner of the world.
  • Host fun contests, like “most creative home office space.”
  • Use this time as an opportunity to test new technologies and systems that may make your team more productive long after we’re all back in the office.

6. Get your House in Order: If business slows, use this opportunity to focus on your own brand and all of those “back-burner” projects you’ve been meaning to get to, like updating your website, freshening up your content, or redesigning your outreach materials. Now’s the perfect time to check off the to-dos on the “needs for us” list. And, most importantly, get ready for when it all goes back to normal – make a game-plan for opportunities the “return to normal” will present.
